Working from home TIPS

We’re all getting used to a new world in which we find ourselves. For those of us now working from home and social distancing here’s some tips.

  • Set up a dedicated work space, free from distractions and clear from clutter. Maybe think about creating a mood board for creative inspiration when you don’t have your work colleagues around to bounce ideas. A favourite pot plant or a jug of flowers and green foliage is uplifting.

  • Shower with an energising blend to kick start your day. Shower Cream with lemon and lemongrass does the trick. For something that’s as fresh as the morning dew choose luxurious Stone Pine Sea Salt Cleansing Gel with rosemary and eucalyptus to invigorate body and mind.

  • Choose a Body Oil for its intense aromatics to suit your mood or to provide support. If you’re feeling anxious use Moor Lavender Calming Body Oil which imparts a sense of deep relaxation, comfort and protection. Moor (peat) extract promotes a sense of feeling grounded. It’s ideal during times of stress. Rose is both exotic and nurturing and aids feelings of balance and wellbeing. Lemon Lemongrass Body Oil is revitalising with extracts of lemon peel and lemongrass, while mistletoe and horsetail fortify and firm skin. Birch Arnica is energising and it helps soothe tired muscles and stiff limbs are warmed for increased flexibility. Blackthorn always helps to keep me focused and it feels strengthening, particularly during autumn and winter.

  • Take a mindfulness moment to complete your skin care ritual, dress for work and apply your make-up, this gets you into the rhythm of work mode.

  • Make your priority list, the act of ticking off each one as you complete the task will give you a sense of achievement.

  • Attend to any priority emails and get them out of the way first.

  • Get on with your list.

  • Have lunch, a screen break, and a walk outside for some fresh air.

  • Water on hand and herbals teas to keep hydrated.

  • It’s often quicker to phone a work colleague rather than emailing backwards and forwards, and given you’re in isolation, the chat will be good for you too.

  • A tube of Hydrating Hand Cream is always on my desk, hands very much need replenishment and protection after 20 second hand washing so often. Absorbs deeply with no greasy residue which is perfect when you’re straight back to the keyboard after application. I love the aroma of Hydrating Hand Cream, it’s both comforting and uplifting. Apply a little Neem Nail & Cuticle Oil too, it will absorb while your fingers are flying over the keyboard.

  • Revitalising Leg & Arm Toner for your 3pm pick-me-up or whenever you need it. I think it’s almost better than coffee! Decant some into an old 30ml Toner pump bottle and mist on legs and arms. Borage and rosemary is so energising and invigorating.

Hand washing TIP

If you’re feeling stressed use calming Hayflower Cardamon Cleansing Lotion for your hand wash and make sure you take a moment to smell its relaxing aroma deeply, reminiscent of a chai latte. If you need something invigorating and fresh use Stone Pine Sea Salt Cleansing Gel. Both of these body and hands cleansers are effective, yet gentle and nourishing, which will help alleviate hand dryness.
